Two Hearts Full of Soul! Mary and Alex …

As they say, people come into your life for a reason. Every time I meet a new couple I try to see what the message is they are bringing and what I can learn from them. Meeting Mary and Alex was very interesting at first! I was not sure what the message was, but after a while I realized the gift. I’ve learned from this beautiful couple the Art of Listening, Respect, Willingness and Punctuality.

Mary’s humble personality and Alex’s gentleness made this journey delightful and easy! Their respect of my opinions and listening to my guidance, coupled with their patience and willingness brought me such a joy and a beautiufl night. Granted, they say some people come into your life for a reason … I say …  and some stay for a lifetime … Mary and Alex are in mine for a lifetime.

Here are some pointers that I gave them and love to share with all of you lovelies out there:

 Find your right balance!

Absorb!  The knowledge, the experiences and the talents!

Too often we listen to too many things. Don’t load your brain with too much confusion!

Sometimes you need to express yourself in creative ways other than explaining!

Show your natural human emotions and feelings!

Find a different way to relate yourselves to one-another!

Be confident and create opportunities!  Remember it has to come from the inner you, your center, and what you believe!

Your confidence and your courage determine your life’s capacity!

See it in your mind’s-eye and find your way forward.

Stephanie, Simply Timeless!

A stunning beauty who amazed me with her simplicity. My darling Stephanie!

“Wherever you are, and whatever you do, be in love.”

To me being simple is not being simple-minded. If one can manage to discover the beauty of being simple, chic, yet elegant and timeless, it indicates a true wisdom.

What I’ve learned from this beautiful bride was that being yourself and keeping it real gives you power, it brings out your inner true self which will set the stage for the rest of your new life!

Remember, I don’t consider your wedding a destination or a goal, it is a journey that will reflect and continue throughout the rest of your life!

Here are my notes on Stephanie’s wedding:

“Let the beauty we love be what we do…”

  • There is a tremendous power in being humble
  • Keep it real and be yourself
  • Keep it simple
  • Be like running water for generosity
  • Appear as you are and be as you appear

“Just a small note” is  my  footnotes from my weekend weddings about “your” personal touch! Hope it helps darling.

❤ Don’t let other things take this away from you: It is about the two of you after all and writing a note to one another is a very nice surprise and a beautiful touch!

❤Last Saturday my lovely bride chose her bridesmaids dresses to be all glittery and sequinsy! (blog about her wedding is coming). It was an absolutely lovely touch, out of the norm, classy and beautiful.

❤Choose a dress that speaks your style! Something couture, timeless and classy. Right details are the key! You dress should be a symbol of your personality and representative of an elegant sexy you!

❤And lastly it’s Ok to use a fashion jewelry for your wedding. Try to be unique and pick a meaningful piece.

Putting the stress aside and looking into some delicious details is always good. Hope these pointers help.

Find the “Niche” & Create your “Style”

I wrote this blog for weddingwire back in 2010. I thought I should share it on my blog since I still strongly believe it is as important as it was in 2010. Enjoy! #XOXO

Although I believe most of us already know how we want the style of our wedding to be, sometimes we end up with so many choices that are confusing. I always recommend inspiration board; I believe it is a must especially for weddings. However, I have seen my couples coming into my office with an album full of pictures with so many different designs, styles and colors that they do not match.

I have always said, “You can’t have everything you like at the same time and at the same place” that creates a design disaster. I advise my couples to go back and find the “niche”, the “one thing” that appears almost everywhere. Look around and perhaps get to know yourself and your style a little better.

Inspiration Boards:

Above is a collection of some pictures I like (most of them I don’t even remember where they came from). Every time I see something I like I cut and paste it to my album and keep it. When it’s time for inspiration and creation, my album is the first place I go to.

We all like different colors, enjoy all different kinds of flowers and wear different styles. Nevertheless, there is always that one thing that appears again and again in everything we choose.

Find something you really like. A piece of fabric, a ring, a beautiful serving dish or anything that inspires you to decorate and style your wedding around it. Recently I bought a candleholder which inspired me for my next party. Everything was designed around it. That was my “niche”! It was the center of my design and the highlight of my night.

In making a decision about the style of your wedding, find what inspires “you”, find what is that one piece, color, or shape that makes you happy and represents “the authentic you” and “your style” and design around it.

My Notes: 2014 Trends Redefined – New York Bridal Fashion Week

Well it is all over and we got the 2014 “hint” of the newest trends, colors, fabrics, styles, etc.

As we all know, with Vera Wang introducing the Pink collection, there is a lot of talk about the color “Pink”. I saw this picture on Pinterest the other day and it instantly became my favorite!

I Love the “grand” style of the room, the colors of the walls and the shapes of the drapes. The beautiful crystal chandelier and the antique French chair.

The room is being decorated very simply yet chic and elegant and off course the most important piece, the antique looking pink sofa with different shades of pink and purple pillows and don’t forget the “Pink shoes”! To me this picture represents what 2014 trends are all about!

Here are my notes from the  fashion week:

More of dresses and veils matching

Fuller skirts, but much lighter in weight

Organza and tulle everywhere

Old lace collage with new lace patterns

Fabrics with great deal of details

Different colors of wedding dress

Art deco accessories

I believe we are once again moving towards more classic, elegant, luxurious, grand

and over all more “formal” approach
